What information is involved when you use MouseConfig, and what is not.

MouseConfig (mouseconfig.app) is a free, browser-based tool for configuring gaming mice, run by Panther Tech. This policy explains what information is involved when you use it. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no cookies and no analytics in these pages, and your settings stay on your own device.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not ask for your name, email address or any other contact details.
  • The pages contain no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts.
  • We do not set cookies.
  • We do not receive your mouse settings, profiles, or any file you open on the site.

Information stored on your device

To remember your work between visits, the site saves a few things in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it:

  • the mouse profiles you create or edit, including button mappings, DPI, lighting and polling-rate settings;
  • your choice of site theme;
  • a note of which mice you have confirmed as compatible, so you are not asked again.

You can remove all of it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Using a private or incognito window means nothing is kept after you close it.

Access to your mouse

The configurators talk to your mouse through WebHID, a browser feature. Your browser asks for your permission before the site can see or change a device, and you choose which device to share. All communication happens directly between your browser and the mouse over USB. Nothing about your device is sent to us or to anyone else. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your browser's site settings.

Files you open

Profile files you import and .jmk files you open in the decoder are read and processed entirely inside your browser. They are not uploaded.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request in order to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse. This includes your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable website for this processing. We do not use this information to identify you, build a profile of you, or sell to anyone. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for how Cloudflare handles this data.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to other websites, such as Amazon, Redragon and GitHub. These are ordinary links, not affiliate links, and we receive nothing when you follow them. Once you leave MouseConfig, the other site's own privacy policy applies.

Requests and feedback on GitHub

If you request support for a mouse or report a problem, you do so on GitHub. Anything you post there is public and is handled by GitHub under its own terms and privacy statement.

Children

The site is a general-audience tool. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA give you rights over your personal information, including the rights to access, correct and delete it and to object to its use. Because we hold no account or profile for you, the data connected with your use of the site is the data stored in your own browser, which you control directly. If you have a question about the hosting logs described above, or wish to exercise a right, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If the site starts handling information differently, for example by adding analytics or an email list, this page will be updated before the change takes effect and the date at the top will change.
