Side 4 and side 5 move between windows or spaces. If you work across a browser, a doc, and a chat app in the same ten minutes, this is the difference between a clean handoff and a jarring context switch every time you need to check something.
Search that's one click away
Side 8 triggers Spotlight. Whatever you need — an app, a file, a quick calculation — it's a single press away instead of a keyboard shortcut you have to consciously reach for.
Closing out, cleanly
Side 10 closes the current tab. The small, repetitive cleanup action that happens dozens of times a day, now requiring no more effort than a click.
A wide-angle view when you need it
Side 12 opens Mission Control — the moment you need to see everything at once rather than guess which window has what you're looking for.
None of this is about becoming a power user overnight. It's about noticing that the actions you repeat constantly are exactly the ones worth optimizing, and that a mouse sitting mostly idle under your palm is actually a second input device you've been ignoring.
